Today, Reed, Amie and their kids manage Modoc Auction Yard with the help of many great folks and handy kids in the community that are willing to help on their Saturday "off."

In February of 1996 Jerry and Carmen Kresge took over managing the yard after purchasing it about two years prior from Zane Mannering. Zane was a past Deputy Sheriff of Sacramento County. He wasn't a cow guy, but he was business and finance savvy.

The 1st summer Jerry and Carmen owned it they spent replacing infrastructure that had fallen down during previous sales. When the purchased the yard there wasn't a single gate that would latch across the alley, so two guys would have to put each pen lot away together. One guy opening the gate and hiding behind it while the other brings the cattle. The 2nd summer they tackled putting in a new water system, and the 3rd summer they put the scales in.

a family businessIn January of 2023, Reed and Amie Martinez purchased the yard from Jerry and Carmen. You will find all of the Martinez Family hands on with the day to day operations of the yard.
